At Jacobstow Community Academy, our vision—“Grow, flourish and achieve the extraordinary”—is at the heart of everything we do. It shapes the rich, nurturing curriculum we offer to all our pupils. We believe every child is unique and deserves the opportunity to live a full and meaningful life.
In our Nursery, children are happy and safe. Their days are filled with sharing, talking, singing, problem-solving, exploring, and playfully questioning the world around them. Through play, they develop new skills, investigate their environment, and challenge themselves to grow. Our dedicated team of experienced practitioners supports each child’s development, fostering confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.
Our Early Years Foundation Stage Unit welcomes children aged 2 to 4, and is open from 8:50am to 3:20pm. Parents and carers may access 15 or 30 hours of free childcare, subject to eligibility.
Sessions run in blocks of at least three hours, starting from 8:50am.
Children attending during lunchtime may bring a packed lunch or purchase a school meal: £2.75 for a full portion or £2.00 for a half portion.
Additional Nursery childcare is available at a rate of £5.25 per hour for 2-year-olds and £4.75 per hour for 3- to 4-year-olds. From September 2025 the rate will increase to £5.50 per hour for 2-year-olds and £5.00 per hour for 3- to 4-year-olds
