    • Oak Class visit Cornwall at War Museum

      Published 18/11/25

Year 5 & 6 had an incredible time when they visited the Cornwall at War Museum in Davidstow. From the moment we arrived, the children impressed everyone with their excellent behaviour and enthusiasm — true ambassadors for our school. The children were so engaged as they listened to the stories and events that took place during WW2. We explored a fascinating collection of wartime artifacts that sparked lots of curiosity and great questions. From vintage uniforms to historic vehicles, there was so much to see and learn! One of the highlights of the day was taking part in a marching drill — lots of laughter, teamwork, and some very sharp salutes! A huge thank you to the museum staff for making us feel so welcome, and well done Oak Class for making it such a memorable trip!

It was a powerful reminder of the importance of peace, gratitude, and remembrance. Lest we forget. ❤️

    • LAP team visit Jacobstow eco council

      Published 06/11/25

On Wednesday 5th November, Jacobstow welcomed business support colleagues in the trust. The team consisted of colleagues from our people team, finance team and estates team. During their visit, they spent some time talking with our eco council, who proudly and confidently shared with them what we are doing at Jacobstow to become more eco friendly. Four children from Oak Class talked about the new eco friendly resources we are using in an attempt to do our part for the environment. Children demonstrated how the refillable glue sticks and pens worked; gave the team the opportunity to try out our new whiteboard pencils and spoke of our efforts to recycle all waste. Together, we talked about what our next steps could be and how they could be leading the way on sustainability across our trust. We had such a lovely time together, and I know they felt warmly welcomed at Jacobstow. Once again, our children shone with their impeccable behaviour, wonderful manners and warm greetings. Thank you to our LAP team friends for coming to visit us - come again soon.
